About ECE Department

In order to meet the wide ranging, challenging and very rapidly growing Global Demands for “Professional Electronics and Communication Engineers” in this Hi-Tech Era, the Department of “Electronics and Communication Engineering” was established in the year 2006 and currently the department offers an Under Graduate program B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students and 1 Post Graduate program M.Tech in Embedded Systems with an annual intake of 24 students.

The Department is Headed by Mr. G Ahmed Zeeshan

  1. Has more than a decade of teaching, research and working experience in several institutions of repute.
  2. Published quality research contributions in Journals & Conferences of National and International repute.
  3. Earned several accolades including Winner of the Best Paper Award at NI
  4. Published many papers in reputed National and International Journals
  5. Member of several Academic Bodies and Boards of repute.

There are 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, and 10 Assistant Professors in the department. The department has 6 Lab Assistants to assist and maintain the labs.

All the faculty members are encouraged to participate in Faculty Development Program, Conferences, Workshops, Publication of Research Papers and active involvement in R & D activity

The Department strives to develop long Term relationships with Industries and market the Student’s Talents effectively. The Students are thus provided high level ‘Leads and Pathways’ that enable them to gain access to a broad range of ‘high potential’ and ‘hi-tech’ Career Opportunities.

Keeping in mind the great potential and demand for new communication technologies, the department aims at imparting its students with the latest knowledge in the field. To accomplish this, the department has well stocked laboratories housing various modern equipments and special software packages to enable the students to keep pace with the fast changing technology.

MISSION

The mission of the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is to provide the students an environment of academic freedom that will insure the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of knowledge in this discipline through effective teaching. It infuses the scientific temper in the students towards the research in Electronics and Communication Engineering. It strives to establish incubation centres for research in Micro electronics, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Communications and Signal Processing with an offer for consultancy services to industries.

Program Outcome

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates can understand the essence of the sector and applications where the aspects of this engineering should be implemented.
  • They have incredible knowledge in the Electronics and Communication Engineering, and use the available information to derive the required solutions.
  • They can carry out the production works or services according to the requirements of the society, and understand the role of various factors like economics, political, social, etc., and create the products or perform the services within the constraints of these factors.
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates can carry out various experiments related to the sector, and display impeccable professionalism in evaluating and deriving the required results from the outputs of these experiments.
  • They can think practically, understand the challenges of the electrical sector, and come up with incredible solutions to boost the industry.
  • Communication skills are a forte for the ECE graduates, as they elude perfection in them. Due to this trait, the graduates are able to work in the global arena, and serve the industries and customers perfectly.
  • Team work is common for them, and they can improve the businesses by indulging in high productive team works.

Biography: Mr. G Ahmed Zeeshan is an Engineering educator with a decade of experience focusing on teaching through interactive methodologies. His areas of interest include Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Digital Image and Signal Processing, Wireless Sensor Networks. He started his career as Assistant Professor in Deccan College of Engineering and Technology. He joined Global Institute of Engineering and Technology in the year 2012. He has guided many projects at UG level and PG level. A PG student received an amount of Rupees 88,000/- for her project under his guidance. He has organised many guest lectures, workshops and conferences.

Biography: Dr. C. SHYAM ANAND is a Professor with 15 years of experience in teaching and research. His areas of interest include Digital Signal & Image Processing, Embedded Systems & Microprocessors. He started his career as Assistant Professor in SRM Valliammai Engineering college from July 2004-july 2006.Then He was a research scholar in IIT Guwahati from July 2006-june 2011 ,where he worked on developing image processing algorithm for restoration of noisy magnetic resonance images(MRI).He was a Lead Engineer, Multimedia & Connectivity Team at Samsung research and Development Institute -Delhi(SRI-D) from July 2011-March 2014.After that he worked as a professor in VIT Chennai form April 2014 – Feb 2016. Then he joined Global Institute of Engineering and Technology in the year 2016. He has guided many projects at UG level and PG level. He has organized many guest lectures, workshops and conferences.

She has completed her PhD from IIT Guwahati, Assam from Dec 2006-Aprl 2014, where she has done her thesis on Hand Posture Recognition Using Discrete Orthogonal Moments. Biography: Sana Fathima is a Assistant Professor in the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology. She completed her Masters of Engineering with Digital Systems as specialization at Deccan College of Engineering and Technology and her undergraduate studies at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology. Her research interests lie in the area of Global Positioning System, VLSI ranging from theory and design to implementation. She has collaborated actively with research in several other disciplines of electronics and communication, particularly satellites architecture and instrumental problems at the receiver and satellite stations.

Workshops: GPS Receiver (NovAtel DL-4plus) and Accord IRNSS user Receiver (NexNav) installation.
